Basic Hats respects your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect through basichats.com, why we use it, when we share it, and the choices available to you.
Information we collect
When you browse, create an account, place an order, request a return, or contact us, we may collect:
- Your name, email address, phone number, billing address, and shipping address.
- Account details, order contents, shipping selections, discounts, returns, refunds, and customer-service messages.
- Payment status and provider references such as a PayPal order or transaction identifier. PayPal or its hosted card components collect payment credentials; Basic Hats does not receive or store full card numbers, card security codes, or PayPal passwords.
- Device, browser, approximate location, IP address, cookie, security, and site-usage information generated when you use the store.
How we use information
We use personal information to operate the store, create and fulfill orders, process payments and refunds, provide account and customer support, send transactional messages, prevent fraud and abuse, maintain security, improve the site, comply with tax and accounting duties, and enforce our terms. We send marketing messages only when permitted, and you may unsubscribe from them at any time.
When we share information
We share only what is reasonably necessary with service providers that help run the store, including WordPress.com, WooCommerce, PayPal, hosting and security providers, email-delivery providers such as Resend, shipping carriers, and professional advisers. We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect customers or the store, or as part of a business transfer. We do not sell personal information for money.
Cookies and similar technology
The site uses cookies and similar technology for carts, checkout, account sessions, security, preferences, and performance. Blocking essential cookies may prevent the cart, account, or checkout from working correctly.
How long we keep information
Customer accounts and order records currently remain in WordPress and WooCommerce until an administrator deletes or anonymizes them, or a valid deletion request is completed, subject to legal obligations. We retain order, refund, tax, payment-reference, fraud-prevention, and support records for as long as reasonably needed for fulfillment, accounting, disputes, security, and applicable law. Temporary cart and session data expires through the store platform’s normal session controls. Basic Hats does not retain raw card data or PayPal login credentials.
Your choices
You may ask to access, correct, export, or delete personal information associated with you. Some transaction records may need to be retained for tax, accounting, fraud-prevention, or legal reasons. You can also update account information through your account page and control non-essential cookies through your browser.
Children’s privacy
Basic Hats is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the store or its service providers change. The effective date above identifies the current version.
